Half Day Charter

Four hours is the perfect amount of time to disappear into the Pamlico Sound and find one of the secret islands and sandbars that stretch from Avon to Hatteras Village.
These are places most Outer Banks visitors never see — shallow bayside coves, remote sandy shoals where you can wade in the shallows, and the quiet that comes from being genuinely away from everything. Your captain knows them all.
Swim stops are standard. All experience levels welcome. This is a private charter — just your group, your itinerary, your afternoon.
What's Included Every Half Day Charter comes fully set up so you can focus on the water:
- Licensed USCG captain — experienced, local, and knows the Sound - Junior sailor mate — crew support aboard (works for tips, always appreciated) - Cooler with ice — bring your own drinks and snacks - Porta-pot or marine head — vessel equipped for comfort - Bluetooth speaker — your playlist, your sail - Chloe — Capt. Jay's golden retriever; first come, first served, ask when booking
Hatteras Community Sailing is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Every charter supports free and reduced-cost youth sailing instruction for local Hatteras Island youth who otherwise couldn't access it.
